Obligatory Post-Xmas Post
Well, I sense that it is time for the obligatory day after Christmas post. Dare I say that I am happy for the holiday to be over? Because I am. I bet you are too. It’s just so much at one time.
While Allie enjoyed the first Christmas where she actually knew what was going on, there was some point in the night, at our fourth house opening gifts, that she was knee deep in wrapping paper and half asleep. Sleepy eyes and all, her favorite gift was a Barbie Drumset. heh! I know..I know..who gets a two year old a drum set? Who burdens the mother of a two year with a drumset?
Oh well, who cares? She adores it. The irony in this all is that Allie is terribly spoiled due to many people competing for her attention. Yet, her favorite gifts were the $1 play-doh that “Santa” left in her stocking and a tacky little make-up brush set courtesy of me.
Honestly, I’m also terribly spoiled. By the end of Christmas, I was a very happy girl. I hope that all of you had wonderful holidays. And if you didn’t, I hope the people who made your holidays not so wonderful stub their toes tomorrow morning.
Oh!Expect many positive changes around the corner. *insert excitement–lots of excitment*

Wow…4 houses? Poor Allie deserved that Barbie drum set! That is a tiring day… The drums sound like fun. Can we come over and play….we’ll love it as long as it stays there
Sounds like you all had a wonderful Christmas….and yes, we too are glad it has passed.
Glad you all had a nice Xmas - I would quickly “lose” the drum set!

Hi and Merry “post-Christmas”,
Isn’t always the way when you buy children expensive gifts and they find the box of the wrapping paper more fun to play with? That is why your little Allie plays with the $1.00 Santa. Have a Happy New Year. -Mike.
four houses? jeez. mom said she used to spoil me with a lot of big gifts, like a kitchen play house set, and just big stuff. i seemed to always enjoy just fake make-up and play-doh. i can’t wait to see the changes :). eek.
Hmmm, I don’t know if I could tolerate the drumset. I’m already getting frustrated with the crashing cars, the singing and revving monster truck, the talking Deigo, the talking Dora backpack, the baby’s singing barn animals, race cars, the baby doll that coos and sleeps loudly, the dance pad music… OMG!! These kids maybe got one or two things that don’t make noise. (Most from other people) It’s so bad that one of the girls got a cute little Dora doll and my almost 3-year-old brought it to me and said, “Where’s the button mommy?”
“No button honey!”
“OOOOhhhh!!”
Well, I’m a little glad Christmas is over, but I do enjoy the children’s joy on Christmas and the week after!
positive changes??? I’m so curious!
Glad you had a nice Christmas and that you’re happy it’s over. I always wondered what the day after Christmas is like (being Jewish). I always wonder if it’s anticlimactic, depressing, etc.. I’m sensing a lot of people are relieved! It’s awesome that New Year’s is just around the corner!
